DirectID hires first Chief Commercial Officer in global growth push

Clare McCaffery joins the DirectID Clan as CCO, bringing 20+ years of commercial strategy experience across data analytics and credit risk, to accelerate the company's global growth ambitions.

DirectID, a global fintech that helps decision makers improve their credit risk, account management and collections decisions using open banking, today announced the appointment of Clare McCaffery as Chief Commercial Officer. McCaffery’s extensive experience in commercialising data-driven products will support DirectID’s mission to redefine decisioning across the credit lifecycle.

McCaffery, DirectID’s first CCO, has a comprehensive background in software, risk analytics, and financial services, and will bring her specialist expertise in commercialising data centric products and predictive analytics to the global risk platform.

Sharing DirectID’s ambition to break the cycle of needing credit history to access credit, McCaffery was previously Managing Director of VisualDNA , which enables lenders to underwrite people with no credit history using alternative data. In her capacity as CCO, McCaffery will oversee DirectID’s accelerated hiring within the commercial team, and will focus on developing the company’s commercial strategy, driving sustainable revenue growth and expanding global reach.

McCaffery joins alongside a cohort of 9 new hires this quarter at DirectID, which includes a new Head of Employee Experience, Karen Henderson, and new Head of Marketing, Karen Towler.

Through the first three quarters of 2021, DirectID unveiled a range of first-to-market insight engines, grew headcount by 25% and expanded its global footprint. With McCaffery, DirectID is positioned to further accelerate global growth ambitions, and continue to positively disrupt the credit risk landscape.

What is open banking and how does it work?

Open banking is the practice that allows people and businesses to share up to 12 months of transaction data. DirectID is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as an Account Information Service Provider (AISP) - the intermediary who safely facilitate this process.

What is transaction categorisation?

Transaction categorisation is the process of adding context to raw transaction data. The process gives you an understanding of what your customers' spend their money  and where.

How does bank account verification work?

Using the bank account verification API, DirectID matches the details provided from your customer to those on their account. We apply a set of sophisticated algorithms and rules to verify the name, and then tell you what does and does not match.

How do you verify income with open banking?

After a customer shares their data, DirectID identify recurring credits to the account and group these. Using an algorithm we identify the monthly income for each income stream. We then return the calculated income and confidence score to you.
